Welcome to “GLOCAL Strategies dot Net"
As a global-to-local – glocal – citizen and public/voluntary sector administrator based in the U.S., I’ve researched and practiced a wide variety of cross-cultural educational and sustainable development programs. I’ve been focusing on evidence-based policy and programs through democratic governance and citizen participation and continue to vote for the planet. Most recently, as an American with Lebanese parts, I’ve sharpened that focus on supporting the effort to decarbonize the atmosphere of my heritage country and beyond.
The top image — above the slideshow — is the draft logo for the organization I co-founded in 2023 with cousins and colleagues. Illumi-Nation Global, Inc., is a Washington, D.C.-based 501c3 nonprofit organization established to support educational and socioeconomic development projects. Illumi’s first project is to engage the Lebanese diaspora and others in a solar energy initiative, village-by-village. The slideshow images represent ongoing local-to-global areas of research and advocacy, including membership in the American Task Force on Lebanon as well as reliance on (and occasional contributor to) the policy analysis of ATFL and the Middle East Institute. The other slides reflect career-long program management and research at the intersection of public and citizen diplomacy — sister cities, in particular. On 10/23/22 my home community’s Montgomery Sister Cities organization — sponsored the Humanitarian Walk in Silence, fostering glocal community, expanding the space for constructive dialogue and international awareness on a crisp autumn day in a Covid-safe way, no less.
